Welcome
to the Federated Church of Marlborough web site. We are a
congregation in true covenant. We are affiliated with three
denominations: the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church
and the Unitarian Universalist Association. Those who feel a
spiritual connection with our congregation but who prefer not to
formalize a denominational relationship are welcome to join our church
as members of the Federation.
Our
roots grow deep. The town of Marlborough is nestled just to the
west of the foothills of majestic Mt. Monadnock, one of the three most
climbed mountains in the world. From 1778 to 1927, Marlborough was
home to five original societies and later three separate
denominations. In 1927, we formed the federation in which we
worship and witness today.
As we worship and witness, celebrate and sing, and carry
out our mission in the world, we join those who have been part of our
congregation since birth and those who have found their way here from
many places --- Connecticut, California, New York, Massachusetts,
Vermont and beyond.
We are a faith community of individuals, tolerant of our
differences and united in our hope and efforts to be good stewards of
our church community. We want to live faithfully and fully as we
reach out in true Christian love within our immediate community and to
the world community, to fulfill our mission to love our neighbors, as
Christ wants us to do.

Although we have formal
affiliations with three major denominations, the Federated Church of
Marlborough includes members with roots in many faiths (United Church of
Christ, United Methodist, Unitarian Universalist, Baptist, Roman Catholic,
Episcopalian and other religious backgrounds). We are a diverse congregation, a
faith community which reaches out in true Christian love and service not only
to our local community but the global community of God’s world.
